the media-sexy candidate. Special Olympic wrap-up -
12 pages in color, includes fantastic photo of viewers
next to ski jump, Anne Henning, Dianne Holum (speed
skaters), Cochrans (skiing), ice hockey, Ulanov and
Rodnina (figure skating) and more. Howard Hughes, the
reclusive billionaire, as known by Noah Dietrich (this
is a big feature and include the Spruce Goose airplane).
Interesting two page Pan Am airline ad about brainwashing
and meals and movies, good ad. Cole Porter revival.
Two page Army recruiting ad, this one featuring a bunch
of different sports - perhaps the other push featuring
Army jobs didn't work. Donald Jackson's article pertaining
to the Olympics and Wojciech Fortuna contains the best
phrase - "The taste of freckles was on my tongue."
Two centuries ago the U.S. contacted China. Making history
in Peking. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Odd
Canadian Club whiskey ad for curious sport of mountain
hopping with a rocket pack, they call it jet age mountain
climbing.
